WARDROBE ARTIFACTS
THE OBJECTS
THAT EXPLAIN THE YEARS.
Some chapters make more sense through the objects they leave behind. A ticket book. A fitting trip. A pair of shorts. A television shopping obsession. Small things that ended up pointing toward the work.
A001 — CARBON COPY
EVERY SALE LEFT A TRACE.
At the La Jolla boutique, tickets were handwritten with carbon copies. Brand, item, price, client, sale — nothing disappeared into a screen. That physical accountability became part of the Benedetto instinct: know the piece, know the transaction, keep the details straight.
A002 — THE FITTING ROUTE
WARDROBE IS A RELATIONSHIP.
Custom wardrobe work meant repeat visits, fittings, refills and follow-up — including travel to Seattle for airline crews through the Twin Hill custom program. The lesson was simple: the first fitting is not the end of the job.
A003 — THE LOBSTER SHORTS
SOMETIMES LOS ANGELES WRITES THE STORY FOR YOU.
At Paradise Cove, a pair of salmon shorts with blue embroidered lobsters became permanently linked to one absurdly specific Los Angeles moment: accidentally stepping on Taylor Swift’s shoes and then being complimented on the shorts. They were retired after that. Some wardrobe pieces become memories before they become archive.
A004 — LATE-NIGHT SHOPPING TELEVISION
LIVE SELLING WAS IN THE ROOM EARLY.
QVC and HSN made product feel like theater: demonstration, education, banter, urgency and direct conversation. Watching as a kid made live selling feel exciting long before there was a Whatnot account to go live from.
A005 — THE RACK
THE OBJECT THAT NEVER LEFT.
Retail floor, fitting room, boutique, production set, styling job, archive, live show — the rack keeps reappearing. Different rooms. Same object. Same job: edit, organize, explain, style, and move the right piece forward.

OBJECTS KEEP RETURNING
THE CLUE
If an object keeps showing up across the years, it is probably telling you what the story was about all along.
